The Well Child Center food pantry—Food For Families—is here to support children and families in need. Our goal is to help solve the lack of access to food and hunger the families in our community are dealing with. The pantry was established in partnership with Food for Greater Elgin.
Food For Families is located at Well Child Center’s Wing Street location—620 Wing Street, Elgin, IL 60123.
The pantry provides nutrient dense food and other necessities to families of our community in a client-choice distribution format. The clients, patients, and families of the Well Child Center have priority access to the food pantry. Each household is allowed to shop only once per week at Food For Families or Food For Greater Elgin.
When visiting the pantry, families are required to register. Registration includes asking for the following: name, date of birth, home address, and household members. Forms only need to be filled out once, during a person or family’s first visit.
The pantry opened in November. Operational hours are as follows:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 3:00 – 6:30 pm
Wednesday: 2:00 – 5:00 pm
Thursday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Friday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
